Acquisition of established vet-focused sales force to boost Bimeda’s presence in France

Bimeda announced today that it has acquired Zootech®; the French veterinary sales division of Provimi. Zootech sells a large range of ruminant and small animal products to vet customers throughout France.

Since its establishment by Provimi in 1992, the company has built a strong reputation and niche position particularly in the veterinary nutritional and hygiene sectors. Key product ranges for the company include ruminant boluses and small animal dermatology.

Commenting on the acquisition, Ian Simington CEO Bimeda Europe said, “we are looking forward to growing the Zootech business, which gives us a great direct platform in France, one of Europe’s largest veterinary markets. It enhances our range in the growing nutraceutical segment and we will be able to complement Zootech’s ruminant range with products from our own portfolio, particularly in the dairy sector, while enhancing the marketing commitment to the pet care range”.

The acquisition of Zootech continues a busy period on the acquisition front for Bimeda following on from the recent Telsol and Vetpharm Animal Care purchases. Together, the transactions enhance Bimeda’s product range and customer reach in key market sectors.
